PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Web & Digital Media Specialist manages website content updates, creates digital graphics and multimedia content, assists with photography and video projects, supports digital marketing efforts, and designs materials based on established guidelines.
POSITION RELATIONSHIP:
In collaboration with the Marketing, Communications & Creative Services department, this position works closely with other staff members in all departments as well as external vendors.
- Create, manage, and publish website content that aligns with marketing and brand strategies
- Analyze website metrics and technology to optimize user experience, SEO and accessibility
- Identify, address and track website improvements, bug fixes and security updates
- Design various graphics according to established design guidelines, such as ads, social media graphics, and presentations
- Help with all aspects of video production, including pre-production, shooting, sound recording, post-production, and delivery
- Collaborate with departments throughout the organization to develop engaging digital content
- Ensure that brand and marketing messages are clear and uniform across the website and all collateral
- Assist with photography and photo editing assignments, plus other duties as assigned
- Stay up-to-date on new media platforms and tactics
- 2–4 years of experience managing a website content management system, such as Drupal
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (digital media, design and/or communications) or equivalent work experience required
- Advanced knowledge of CSS, HTML, and Javascript
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro) and Figma
- Demonstrated UI/UX design skills with a strong portfolio
- Understand website analytics, SEO, and accessibility standards
- Experience operating audio, video, and camera equipment
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to establish priorities and work with competing deadlines
- Excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with cultural or non‐profit organizations preferred
- Positive attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as an eagerness to learn and develop professionally in a collaborative environment
- $45,000 annual
- Full time, exempt position (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, plus some weekends and evenings as needed.)
- Eligible for hybrid work schedule (three days in office and two days remote), under qualifying conditions
