We are a family-owned and operated farm dedicated to raising high-quality pigs with a focus on animal health, welfare, and efficiency. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Swine Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily care and management of pigs, ensuring optimal health and well-being.
- Monitor animal health, administer treatments, and follow biosecurity protocols.
- Manage feeding schedules and ensure proper nutrition.
- Maintain detailed records of herd health, treatments, and production data.
- Train and supervise caretakers and assist in scheduling labor needs.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment related to swine production.
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of facilities to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Work closely with veterinarians, nutritionists, and farm owners to optimize herd performance.
Skills
- Previous experience in pig care or livestock management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, health, and nutrition.
- Leadership experience and ability to manage a small team.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to work in farm conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
