Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation, and spousal support cases
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity
- Negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of clients through effective legal negotiation techniques
- Prepare for and participate in virtual court hearings, mediations, and client meetings to advocate for clients’ best interests
- Maintain detailed case management records using legal case management software to ensure timely follow-up and compliance
- Stay current on evolving family law statutes, procedural laws, and relevant regulations to provide accurate legal advice
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active licensure to practice law in Texas or eligible for admission
- Proven experience in family law practice with a strong understanding of procedural law knowledge and statutory legal research methods
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive case analysis
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents and motions
- Strong negotiation skills demonstrated through successful settlement negotiations or dispute resolution
- Familiarity with general & commercial litigation practices and personal injury law is advantageous
- Excellent research skills combined with meticulous attention to detail in legal drafting and case management
- Previous law office experience emphasizing legal administrative experience and procedural law knowledge
