Lead Career Center Data Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting

We are hiring a Data Strategy Analyst to lead the Career Center's data strategy, analytics, and reporting efforts. By analyzing student engagement, career outcomes, and program effectiveness, you will generate actionable insights that inform strategic decision making, support institutional reporting, and help measure the impact of career education. Working closely with colleagues across the university, you will strengthen data governance, assessment, and partnerships while advancing a culture of evidence-based planning and continuous improvement.

What you will do

Data Strategy and Governance (30%)
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive data strategy for the career center across undergraduate and graduate populations
  • Establish and maintain data governance practices, including standardized definitions, processes, and reporting protocols
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across all systems and platforms
  • Oversee integration of multiple data sources, including CRM systems, survey platforms, and external datasets
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, FERPA, and data privacy standards
  • Partner with IT and Institutional Research to support system alignment, data architecture, and reporting infrastructure

Data Analytics and Reporting (25%)
  • Lead analysis and interpretation of student engagement, career outcomes, learning outcomes, and program data across undergraduate and graduate populations
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate insights to staff, leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests from senior leadership and campus partners
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including advising, events, employer engagement, and resource utilization
  • Identify trends and translate findings into clear, actionable insights that inform strategy and resource allocation
  • Support senior career center leadership in decision making by synthesizing complex data and presenting clear reports to support short-term and long-term strategies

First Destination Survey and Outcomes (20%)
  • Own the full lifecycle of the First Destination Survey, including methodology, design, administration, and reporting for all graduating students
  • Ensure alignment with national standards and maintain a strong knowledge rate
  • Lead analysis and reporting of career outcomes data for both undergraduate and graduate populations
  • Integrate additional data points including survey data, internship reports, employer feedback, program evaluations, and others into reporting efforts
  • Produce annual outcomes reports, including data visualizations and presentations to support institutional reporting

Assessment, Partnerships, and Communication (10%)
  • Develop and manage the Career Center's assessment plan and key performance indicators
  • Partner with Institutional Research, academic units, Advancement, Alumni Relations, and other stakeholders on data sharing and reporting
  • Proactively explore and prepare timely reports to guide data-driven decisions around programming, goal setting and performance metrics
  • Present findings to internal and external audiences, including senior leadership
  • Train staff on data literacy, dashboards, and use of data in decision-making

Analytics Innovation and Enablement (5%)
  • Lead the development of advanced analytics, including predictive modeling and applied AI, to enhance forecasting, student engagement strategies, and outcome analysis
  • Apply data visualization best practices to improve clarity, usability, and impact of reporting tools
  • Identify opportunities to modernize data systems, including real-time reporting and cloud-based analytics
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies that improve data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities

Professional Development & Center Support (10%)
  • Conduct regular research on higher education, career, and data strategy to propose adjustments to current strategies or address evolving challenges and opportunities
  • Participate in professional development activities related to data and assessment in higher ed and career services
  • Support the planning and execution of career center events and initiatives

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or data management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly to diverse audiences
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards and reports for decision-making
  • Experience working with multiple data systems and integrating data from various sources
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and functions

Preferred
  • Degree in data analytics, statistics, data science, or a related field
  • Experience with survey tools and statistical software (e.g., Qualtrics, R, SPSS, SAS, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and user-centered reporting design
  • Experience with predictive modeling, forecasting, or applied AI in a professional setting
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms or cloud-based analytics environments
  • Knowledge of FERPA and data privacy standards in higher education

Work Environment: Brandeis combines the educational model of a liberal arts college with the resources of a research university. At our core, we are a medium-sized residential campus that provides a robust in-person experience for students and community members. Career staff work 35 hours per week on a hybrid schedule, with flexible hours when available. Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required.
