Network | Cabling Technician
Location: Oregon Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 100% Onsite 5 Days per Week
Job Summary
We are seeking a Cabling Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems within data center and enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper cabling, cable routing, termination, testing, labeling, and documentation. This role involves working on network infrastructure projects, equipment installations, and cable management activities in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, route, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Perform CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cable installations.
- Install and maintain patch panels, cable trays, and cable management systems.
- Label, document, and organize cabling according to industry standards.
- Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues.
- Perform cable testing and certification using industry-standard tools.
- Read and interpret cable diagrams, floor plans, and technical drawings.
- Support rack and stack activities for network and server equipment.
- Maintain accurate installation records and documentation.
- Follow safety procedures and data center operational standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, network engineers, and installation teams.
- Ensure clean and organized work areas throughout project execution.
Required Skills
- 1 years of cabling, structured cabling, or low-voltage installation experience.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting Fiber Optic cabling.
- Experience with CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling.
- Knowledge of patch panels, cable trays, and cable management systems.
- Cable termination and testing experience.
- Ability to read technical drawings and cable layouts.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift equipment and work in data center environments.
