Position Summary

A Braised Kitchen Server is more than someone who takes orders—they are an ambassador of our mission, our food, and our hospitality. Servers guide guests through the Braised Kitchen experience by providing warm, attentive service while sharing knowledge about our menu, ingredients, and culinary philosophy.

Our servers create memorable dining experiences by anticipating guests' needs, delivering food and beverages with care, and ensuring every guest receives exceptional service from the moment they arrive until they leave.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
  • Build meaningful connections through friendly, attentive, and personalized service.
  • Become knowledgeable about our food and beverage menus, ingredients, preparation methods, seasonal offerings, and daily specials.
  • Confidently answer questions regarding dietary preferences, food allergies, and menu recommendations.
  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders while communicating effectively with the kitchen team.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring every plate meets Braised Kitchen's standards for quality and presentation.
  • Anticipate guest needs by refilling beverages, checking on table satisfaction, and responding quickly to requests.
  • Process guest payments accurately while maintaining accountability for cash, receipts, and gratuities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dining room by bussing tables, sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies, and completing assigned side work.
  • Support fellow team members with a positive, team-first attitude to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Complete opening and closing duties to prepare the restaurant for each service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience serving guests in a full-service restaurant.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Positive attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

SUMMARY

Restaurant Servers attend to diners in a restaurant during a meal, helping them place their order and making sure they get their food and beverages in a timely manner. They greet guests and engage in friendly conversation with them to cultivate a hospitable, welcoming environment.
Restaurant Servers are knowledgeable about the food and beverages on the menu so they can explain dishes to guests and clarify any concerns about allergies or styles of food preparation.

Restaurant Servers submit orders to the kitchen and bring food out to guests when it is ready, filling their drinks and checking on other tables in the meantime. They help their tables pay their bill and make correct changes, keeping track of receipts and tips. In addition to caring for guests, Restaurant Servers help maintain a clean and sanitary environment by bussing dishes, sweeping floors, wiping menus and completing other closing tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Welcoming and sitting diners comfortably in the dining section
● Taking customers’ food and drink orders

● Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders
● Memorizing the menu and recommend appetizers, meals and drinks from restaurant wine stock
● Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly
● Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant
● Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events
● Ensuring cooking utensils and kitchen area are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations

EDUCATION and TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

● High school diploma or associate degree in culinary studies or food and hospitality management
● Wine knowledge included varieties and cuisine paring.
● In-depth knowledge of wine and different types of cuisines
● Excellent interpersonal skills
● Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems POS
● High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES:

California Food Handler certificate

T.I.P.S. Alcohol Training certificate

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and menu items, in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, team members and supervisors.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving Hospitality-related restaurant experiences.
