Duties
- Supervise groups of children during camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and positive conduct among campers
- Assist with setting up activity stations, preparing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Respond promptly to camper needs with compassion and professionalism, providing first aid or emergency assistance when necessary
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules and ensure smooth transitions between activities
- Support the development of youth programs by encouraging participation, fostering teamwork, and promoting inclusivity
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated classroom management skills to guide behavior effectively in group settings
- Knowledge of first aid protocols, CPR certification, AED operation, and emergency response procedures is required or obtainable upon hire
- Background in special education or childhood development is a plus for supporting diverse needs
- Experience leading youth group activities or facilitating team sports enhances your ability to engage campers actively
