We are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our team. The Kennel Technician is responsible for providing excellent daily care to dogs and other animals in our facility while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working around animals, enjoys physical work, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of treating every pet with patience, kindness, and respect.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care, supervision, and attention to animals in our facility
- Feed and provide fresh water according to individual instructions
- Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, play areas, and common areas
- Walk, exercise, and provide appropriate playtime for dogs
- Monitor animals for changes in behavior, appetite, activity, or overall condition
- Report injuries, illness, unusual behavior, or other concerns to management
- Safely handle and restrain animals when necessary
- Follow feeding, medication, cleaning, and care instructions accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary facility
- Assist with bathing, grooming, nail trims, or other animal-care services as needed
- Help with check-in and check-out of pets and communicate professionally with clients when needed
- Follow all facility safety procedures and animal-handling protocols
- Perform laundry, waste removal, restocking, and other general cleaning duties
- Provide compassionate care and attention to every animal
- Work effectively as part of a team
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required
- Must be comfortable handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift
- Able to safely lift and carry animals and supplies when necessary
- Must be comfortable working around animal hair, odors, cleaning products, and waste
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
