JOB DESCRIPTION General Expectations: Braille Institute of America's outreach is the primary way by which we expand our network within the medical communities where we operate our centers. This role will have an impact by expanding our services and programs to members of the blind and low-vision populations. This is not a selling position. It is a relationship-building and network-connecting position. Develop relationships and partnerships with medical professionals, including but not limited to ophthalmologists and optometrists, with the goal of increasing new client referrals to Braille Institute of America. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct professional in-person visits with physicians, staff, and give group presentations in-person and remotely. Establish, enhance, and expand network of physicians and clinic/medical organizations; maintain ongoing positive business relationships. Travel mostly within Riverside & San Bernadino Counties to make visits with current and new partners. Support events in the community and at the Braille Institute centers, as needed. Accountable for administrative responsibilities related to intake tracking and reporting of referrals. Ability to work in the field, remotely, and in the office as needed. Availability/flexibility to work varied hours including occasional evenings and weekends. Education: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in additional experience. Skills and Abilities: Minimum 2-4 years of partnership or relationship management experience. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal communication, organizational, and basic computer skills. Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment in critical situations, conflict resolution skills. Experience interfacing with medical communities (physicians, medical office staff) is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations and/or visually impaired is preferred. License/Certification: A valid California driver license and current automobile insurance. Adequate transportation and a driving record acceptable to the organization and/or its insurance carrier. Must have a vehicle that can be used for outreach appointments across Southern California region 4-5 days a week. Eligible for mileage reimbursement and expenses. Schedule: Flexible schedule to work varied hours including occasional evenings and weekends. Work Environment: Hybrid and in the field. Travel: Travel is required within Orange and San Diego Counties and may occasionally extend to the areas of Laguna Hills and Riverside. Salary range: $65,000-$75,000 Plus mileage reimbursement #BIA1
