Position Summary:
The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules that support the successful execution of industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and capital projects. This position works closely with project managers, superintendents, engineering, procurement, and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved safely, efficiently, and within budget. The Scheduler plays a critical role in identifying schedule risks, forecasting project performance, and providing accurate reporting to project leadership and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Build engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout schedules from project kickoff through completion.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Engineering, Procurement, and Clients to establish project timelines.
• Update project schedules based on field progress and production reports.
• Perform schedule analysis to identify critical path activities, constraints, and potential delays.
• Develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies when schedule deviations occur.
• Generate weekly and monthly schedule updates and executive reports.
• Participate in project planning meetings, progress meetings, and client scheduling reviews.
• Monitor labor productivity and compare planned versus actual performance.
• Assist project teams with manpower forecasting and resource loading.
• Track project milestones and contractual deliverables.
• Maintain schedule documentation and historical project records.
• Ensure scheduling practices comply with company standards and client requirements.
• Support estimating and proposal teams by developing preliminary schedules during the bidding process.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring project schedules align with safe work practices and operational requirements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• 3–7 years of scheduling experience in industrial construction, EPC, maintenance, or turnaround environments.
• Experience with refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or heavy industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Must have proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
• Understanding of construction sequencing and project execution.
