Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Director of Wellness to join our healthcare team. As a Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to individuals residing in the Assisted Living community.
Duties:
Responsible for the direction and supervision of all resident care services of the facility and the home care agency
Responsible for the oversight of recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of all home health care agency personnel including maintaining orientation, competency and proficiency training and continuing educational files on all employees of the home health services organization
Ensure probationary and annual reviews are performed on all Wellness Department and Home Care Agency employees
Ensure the appropriate staff to resident ratios are in place to facilitate quality resident care
Ensure that all the appropriate required documentation for the State, Federal and other regulatory agencies are maintained, accessible and current including the accuracy of public information and activities
Maintain the facility in compliance with all applicable statutes, codes, and rules and regulations
Maintain an ongoing liaison and communications with the governing body, the professional advisory board and home health services organization employees
Maintain an ongoing liaison with the community. Conduct community educational programs as appropriate, ensuring appropriate communication with physicians and referral sources and providing sales support, as needed
Ensuring the financial stability of the agency by initiating, monitoring and evaluating budgetary and reimbursement system
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and reports
Monitor and assess the health status of residents regularly
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall care planning process
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Prior experience working in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing
- Proficiency in medication administration and documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care
