BIM Detailer

Brady West LA is seeking a BIM Detailer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have use various Autodesk programs to populate and coordinate light gauge metal stud framing models and create shop drawings to support Operations and Estimating departments as well as Brady’s team in the field.

Duties

• Development of 3D model based on architectural and structural details.
• Responsible for clash coordination of Brady’s scope with MEP/Structural trades and issuing RFI’s or BIM Tracks for each item that cannot be resolved via coordination meetings.
• Develops and maintains families and model templates that are used for development of the current and future projects.
• Use Autodesk suite to develop the 3D model. Primarily, the MWF Pro Metal plug-in for Revit, CAD, and .
• Create shop drawings, in both CAD and Revit, that the employees in the field can utilize.
• Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for models, shop drawings, and reference files.
• Communication with the staff of the general contractor, architect, other sub-contractors, and structural engineers.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve when faced with issues, such as software errors, and modeling complex framing details. Take the issue to BIM Manager or Project Manager when warranted.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of introduction level knowledge of the Autodesk suite or similar 3D drafting software.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with the team on larger projects and be able to work alone on smaller projects.
• High School degree as well as experience related to construction.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve when faced with issues, such as software errors, and modeling complex framing details.
• Capable to read and interpret documents such as architectural and structural drawings, as well as product data for material and wall mounted devices.
• Experience in Autodesk software such as Revit and CAD.
• Experienced with the Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office 365 suite of programs.
• Experienced with PDF viewers, such as Bluebeam Revu
• Other tools include BIM 360, Hilti plugins for Revit such as Profis and Field Points, and any other automated layout tools.
