Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facility Maintenance Technician to support ongoing building maintenance, service calls, and minor construction repairs across our commercial portfolio. This position is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in general building systems and a commitment to professionalism and customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance at commercial facilities
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC components (filters, thermostats, basic mechanical issues)
- Perform minor plumbing repairs (fixtures, leaks, valves, drains)
- Perform minor electrical work (switches, outlets, lighting, ballasts – per code)
- Drywall patching, painting, door and hardware repair
- Flooring repairs (VCT, carpet tile, base)
- Lighting maintenance (lamp and ballast replacement)
- Roof leak investigation and temporary repairs
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
- Use a CMMS/work order system for reporting and documentation
- Communicate with property managers and tenants professionally
- Follow all OSHA and site safety requirements
Qualifications
- 3 years of facility maintenance, building engineering, or commercial service experience
- Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and building components
- Ability to read simple plans, schedules, and work orders
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work off ladders
- Reliable transportation
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
- HVAC EPA Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Experience working in occupied commercial buildings
- CMMS or service ticket software experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
