Key Responsibilities
- Lead weekly project meetings, track progress, and manage lookahead schedules.
- Oversee the complete project lifecycle, including planning, construction, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and field operations for seamless delivery.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, subcontractors, utilities, and local agencies.
- Build and manage detailed schedules and budgets using platforms such as Procore, Microsoft tools, or Smartsheets.
- Conduct site visits for progress checks, safety inspections, and milestone verification.
- Assist preconstruction teams with subcontractor qualification and bid reviews.
- Approve and track invoices tied to assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements through accurate documentation.
- Support project commissioning, closeout, and client handover activities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or related discipline preferred.
- PMP certification a plus.
- NABCEP training a plus.
- 3–5 years of project management experience, ideally in solar or renewables.
- Background in public works or government-funded projects highly desirable.
- Track record of managing multiple projects and field teams simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, permitting, and budget management.
- Familiarity with solar PV systems, interconnection processes, and renewable energy workflows.
- Proficiency in project management platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solver.
- Must pass background and driving record checks; ability to use company vehicles.
- Able to travel frequently to project sites within Illinois.
- Physically capable of job site duties (walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs) and working outdoors in varied conditions.
