VP / Director – Hyperscale Energy & Business Development

A growing energy infrastructure platform is seeking a senior business development leader to develop direct relationships with hyperscalers and major data center operators and originate opportunities for behind-the-meter power generation.

This is a strategic, entrepreneurial role focused on identifying data center power needs, developing customer relationships, structuring commercial solutions, and driving opportunities from initial engagement through transaction execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with hyperscalers and major data center developers.
• Originate behind-the-meter power opportunities supporting large-scale data center campuses.
• Understand hyperscaler energy procurement strategies, power requirements, and decision-making processes.
• Identify attractive markets, customers, projects, and commercial structures.
• Lead opportunities through origination, commercial structuring, negotiation, and execution.
• Partner with development, engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams to evaluate and structure projects.
• Develop commercial solutions including PPAs, energy services agreements, tolling arrangements, and other behind-the-meter structures.
• Provide leadership with market intelligence around data center power demand, energy markets, and emerging opportunities.
  
  

Qualifications

• 10 years in energy, power, data centers, infrastructure, or related industries.
• Proven track record originating and executing complex energy or infrastructure transactions.
• Established hyperscaler and/or major data center relationships strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. power markets and energy infrastructure.
• Strong commercial, financial, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently develop opportunities and relationships.
