General Service Technician
Location: Bradley Tire & Auto Center – Bellefontaine, Ohio
Reports To: Shop Foreman or General Manager
Position Type: Full-Time
Purpose & Objective
At Bradley Tire & Auto Center, every team member plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience. The General Service Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance services, assisting the technician team, maintaining a clean and professional shop environment, and ensuring every vehicle leaves our facility in better condition than it arrived.

Primary ResponsibilitiesRoutine Maintenance Services
- Perform oil changes, tire rotations, tire repairs, wheel balances, battery replacements, air filter and cabin filter replacements, wiper blade installation, and other maintenance services.
- Perform maintenance services according to manufacturer specifications and Bradley Tire & Auto Center quality standards.
- Assist technicians with repairs and vehicle preparation as directed.
- Maintain efficiency while ensuring every repair is completed correctly the first time.
Vehicle Quality Control
- Complete quality control inspections before customer delivery.
- Verify that all requested services have been completed accurately.
- Ensure every vehicle is clean, free of grease or fingerprints, and presented professionally.
- Notify management immediately of any concerns before vehicle delivery.
Customer Experience
- Help maintain the professional appearance of customer vehicles.
- Occasionally transport customers or pick up parts using company vehicles.
- Interact with customers courteously and professionally whenever necessary.
Secondary ResponsibilitiesShop Operations
- Keep shop floors, work areas, parking lot, and customer areas clean and organized.
- Restock shop supplies and assist in maintaining inventory.
- Properly dispose of used fluids, filters, tires, and other shop waste.
- Assist in maintaining shop equipment and organization.
Team Support
- Assist technicians with vehicle movement and repair preparation.
- Support workflow by completing assigned tasks efficiently.
- Participate in training and continue developing automotive knowledge.
- Assist with other responsibilities as assigned to support daily shop operations.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
- Basic automotive knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
- Previous automotive experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform oil changes, tire services, and basic maintenance safely and efficiently.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and accept coaching.
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use digital inspection software with training.
- Ability to safely operate customer vehicles, including manual transmissions preferred.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, squat, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
