Job Details:
Bradford Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant that is willing to learn and grow with our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures with care and compassion
- Occasionally perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood work
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic and kennel areas
Experience:
- Knowledge of pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise requirements
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Understanding of basic quality of care principles (feeding, cleaning cages, exercise, etc.)
- Strong animal handling skills, including the ability to calm anxious or aggressive animals
- A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to be punctual and highly communicative among your team
