Property Underwriting Experience Preferred

An established, well-capitalized Illinois farm mutual insurance company is seeking an experienced manager with a strong background in property underwriting.

Serving more than 5,000 policyholders across 46 Illinois counties, our company works through an extensive network of independent insurance agencies to provide dependable, personalized insurance solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring insurance company management experience, strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of property underwriting and the property/casualty insurance industry.

Desirable Qualifications for a Mutual Manager

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of five to seven years of property/casualty insurance industry experience in major functional areas such as underwriting, claims, marketing, education, or reinsurance.
• Farm Mutual Experience: Previous experience in the farm mutual insurance industry is highly desirable.
• Management Experience: Prior management experience is strongly preferred.
• Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Leadership and Decision-Making: Strong analytical, strategic, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency with computers and relevant software is required, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher is a plus. Experience or expertise with comparable software will also be considered.
• Professional Development: Continuing education in the insurance industry is preferred, including designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), or Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM).
