We are seeking a Patient Financial Services Manager to add to our dynamic team!
The Patient Financial Services Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations related to patient accounts within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and compliance with healthcare regulations to optimize revenue cycle management. The person in this role will collaborate with a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to patients while maintaining financial integrity and transparency. They will work closely with clinical, administrative, and insurance teams to resolve complex billing issues and improve financial processes. Ultimately, this role drives the financial health of the organization by balancing operational efficiency with patient-centered service.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Patient Financial Services team to ensure efficient billing, collections, and account resolution processes
- Implement policies and procedures that comply with healthcare regulations and improve revenue cycle performance
- Monitor key performance indicators and financial reports to identify trends, address issues, and recommend improvements
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments to resolve patient billing inquiries and insurance claim disputes
- Educate staff to clarify and enhance their knowledge of billing systems, customer service, and regulatory compliance
- Perform functions of billing, collections, admissions, cash posting, data entry in accordance with company policy
- Complete monthly reports on revenue, collections, and admissions for the Regional Director according to policies and procedures
- Responsible for petty cash reconciliation and/or maintenance of the administrative fund checking account
- Review and input accounts payable after approval by CEO in accordance with company policy
- Prepare daily receipts journal, daily cash report, and weekly cash reconciliation report in accordance with company policy
- Make bank deposits
- Balance and post daily receipts and patient charges for facility in accordance with company policy
- Daily review of EOB’s and posting of contractual adjustments for facility in accordance with company policy
- Monitor accounts receivable for appropriate collection and follow up activity including possible bad debt write offs in accordance with company policy
- Timely review and disposition of financial accounts in accordance with company policy
- Function as a liaison between the facility and corporate accounting to ensure proper reporting of cash deposits, projected revenues, etc.
- Responsible for maintenance of patient records, including storage, retrieval and closeout
- Participate in department head, utilization review, and any committee meetings as assigned by the CEO
- Perform any general administrative/clerical functions of the facility
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Two (2) years of business office experience in a health care facility
- One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
- Must have good personal interaction skills
- Must be skilled in office equipment i.e. calculator, computer, copy machine and fax machine
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare financial services or revenue cycle management
- Proven experience managing teams and leading operational improvements in a healthcare environment
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, insurance processes, and healthcare regulations
- Familiarity with patient advocacy and financial assistance programs
