Parkdale utilizes innovative programs and solutions that meet those struggling with substance use disorder. We are looking for a Behavioral Health Technician to add to our dynamic team. Behavioral Health Technicians play a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in various behavioral health settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with mental health and severe emotional disturbances (SED).
- Conduct clinical assessments and assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment and discharge plans.
- Monitor patient behavior and intervene during crises to ensure safety and promote stabilization.
- Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and care plans.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and other stakeholders to support patient care and facilitate effective communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience or training in behavioral health, mental health, or related clinical settings.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and mental health clinical assessments.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and clinical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or equivalent credential.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances (SED).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation software.
- Training in trauma-informed care and de-escalation strategies.
- Additional coursework or certification in crisis management or psychiatric rehabilitation.
