The Short Run Digital Press Operator – Nights is responsible for the efficient operation of a digital press and related finishing equipment.

The Short Run Digital Press Operator – Nights is responsible for the efficient operation of a digital press and related finishing equipment.
Requirements
- Ripping files produced from data files using digital print equipment.
- Set up and run in line Saddle Stitcher and Perfect Binder.
- Reviewing all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to internal or external customers.
- Adjust and maintain print quality throughout the print run.
- Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.
- Record maintenance and service call in maintenance logbook as required
- Set up, operate and maintain roll fed digital ink jet 4-color press.
- Set up, operate and maintain saddle stitcher and perfect binder.
- Perform operator maintenance and work with phone support to trouble shoot issues.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Monitor supply levels and assist with consumable orders.
- Working knowledge, awareness, and compliance with ISO Procedures
- May require additional availability to work evenings and/or weekends.
- Ability to review color and adjust as needed.
- Reads and interrupts work orders and production schedules.
- Consistently demonstrate the ability to work with manufacturing management to achieve company goals including customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the Hagen data collection system and display consistency and accuracy in meeting data collection requirements specified in the quality documentation and by management.
- Demonstrate willingness to accept direction from supervisors, management and peers to improve quality and performance.
- Demonstration willingness to work together with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to proper use of PPEs, safe ergonomic practices, and proper and safe handling of chemicals.
- Maintain working knowledge, awareness, and compliance with ISO Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned, including working where directed, be it on varying presses or in other departments.
- Excellent vision, including the ability to perceive color
- Ability to operate jacks safely
- Ability to remain physically and mentally alert during second shift hours 4 pm-12 am
- Dexterity
- Capable of repeated standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting of boxes up to 50lbs for 8-12 hours at a time
- Ability to work at a rapid pace
- Ability to tolerate being exposed to loud noises and moving machinery (PPE provided)
