This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 13 months.
- Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
1) Academic accomplishment (Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred)
2) Demonstration of a portfolio of publications related to Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Astronautical Engineering topics.
3) Ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level.
4) Ability to develop a portfolio of externally fundable research and advise Defense-related projects in area of Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Astronautical Engineering as a member of a team.
5) Ability to mentor and/or advise cadets and faculty members on teaching, assessment, and scholarly development in United States Military Academy (USMA) in and out of the classroom.
