Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Handle chemical agents safely while applying sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental standards
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, ceilings, and fixtures to uphold facility appearance standards
- Use custodial tools and cleaning equipment efficiently to complete daily tasks promptly and effectively
- Follow established safety procedures during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to support overall building upkeep
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial and industrial cleaning techniques
- Skilled in handling chemical agents safely with adherence to chemical handling safety procedures
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards and proper use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers and scrubbers
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting is a plus
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to custodial work and industrial cleaning environments
