Job Summary
North Shore Long Island Restaurant is
seeking a friendly, attentive, and professional Server to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Experience with POS systems and food industry standards is preferred to provide seamless service and uphold our high standards of hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming environment.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Toast POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and resetting tables for new guests.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and restaurant policies to answer guest questions confidently.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues promptly.
- Provide guest relations by addressing concerns professionally and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs.
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Experience with culinary preparation or food safety practices is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Excellent communication skills for effective guest interaction and teamwork.
- Knowledge of upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience while increasing sales revenue.
