Key Responsibilities:
o Review and approve electrical and structural designs for photovoltaic projects, ensuring that designs comply to contractual obligations and the customer needs.
o Respond to contractor submittals, AHJ reviews, and RFIs according to project requirements,
codes, client goals, and BPi’s business interest.
o Coordinate with Site Assessors, Project Management, and Sales teams to complete design meeting the customers’ expectations with strict deadlines.
o Generate bill of materials for the projects, including modules, racking, inverters, RSD’s, switchgear, monitoring hardware, batteries and associated equipment and any other relevant project procurement items.
o Material procurement includes quantity take-offs, coordination with purchasing team and tracking tools to ensure product is delivered on schedule. Including on-site material of takes and coordination as needed.
o Routine (in person) quality control and assurance inspections on site with associated reporting.
o Staff final utility and AHJ inspections as needed.
o Ensure as-built conditions and punch list items for project completion get captured.
o Delegate project completion tasks to other engineering team members.
o Utilize software systems to record progress of various tasks.
o Always demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior.
Qualifications and Experience:
o NABCEP PV Design Specialist (PVDS) or NABCEP Installation Professional (PVIP) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
o Associate’s degree in an engineering related field minimum (bachelor’s preferred)
Preferred Skills:
o 2-4 Years’ Design experience in commercial electric solar and battery projects.
o Experience maintaining and improving design processes.
o Analytical / critical thinking / acute attention to detail.
o Experience with Microsoft excel.
Salary Band or Market-Related:
- Market-related salary; final offer based on experience and qualifications.
