Summary:
Shop manager oversees the daily operations of a repair facility, including scheduling repair jobs, managing technicians, ensuring quality work is completed on time, communicating with Service and Production regarding repair status and costs, maintaining inventory of parts, and ensuring the shop adheres to safety regulations, all while maximizing efficiency and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee the operations of repairing Customer and J-Tech vehicles and Equipment.
· Assess repair needs and provide accurate cost estimates.
· Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
· Supervise quality performance, safety, and turnaround time.
· Communicate repair progress updates and address concerns.
· Train and support employees in procedures and expectations.
· Counsel employees on performance issues when necessary.
· Responsible for the quality of all repairs performed by his/her team.
· Supports workers in problem solving machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
· Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process modifications and may recommend product or service modification.
· Schedules work, assists with employee selection and reviews employee performance.
· Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
· Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
· Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
· Resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
· Coordinate with Fleet Support on compliance.
· Job may require travel
· Drive customer owned vehicles and/or company vehicles as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma required and 5 years’ experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to solve problems and be a team leader.
Strong communication skills and etiquette.
Willingness to engage in problem solving.
Eagerness to help with tasks as needed.
Drivers License and clean driving record required.
Salary is negotiable depending skill set and experience.
Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm
40 hours a week
Salary : $67,000 - $72,000
