Duties
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling all retail sales transactions with precision and efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Manage cash drawer handling, ensuring proper cash handling procedures and balancing at shift end
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when needed to educate customers about features and benefits
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining organized checkout areas
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or through online inquiries
- Support in supervising team members during busy periods, providing guidance on cashier procedures and customer interactions
Qualifications
- Prior experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is highly desirable
- Demonstrated supervising experience in a retail environment is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customers effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing registers
- Knowledge of retail store products and merchandising principles to assist customers confidently
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly and accurately for sales and discounts
- Experience with retail sales transactions, upselling techniques, and cashiering procedures
- Familiarity with stock management, product demos, and store merchandising practices
