Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive electrical cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
- Review project plans, specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to accurately determine scope of work.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals and cost analysis reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to negotiate pricing, scope adjustments, and contract terms.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, gather data, and validate estimates against actual site requirements.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost control.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, change orders, and related documentation for transparency and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems; familiarity with heavy civil or infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and electrical safety regulations.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, site management, contracts, and project management principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing strategies.
