The Role
The Human Resources Representative is an mid-level HR professional responsible for supporting and administering core human resources functions while serving as a trusted resource to employees and managers. This position requires prior hands-on HR experience and independent judgment in employee relations, recruiting, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and benefits
· Support and manage recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding
· Lead new hire onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring completion of all documentation and system updates
· Assist in handling employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations support, and issue resolution in coordination with management
· Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with legal and company requirements
· Administer benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, employee education, and coordination with vendors
· Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and wage and hour regulations
· Coordinate training initiatives, track completion, and assist with development programs
· Support performance management cycles, including review tracking and documentation
· Assist with HR audits, reporting, policy updates, and process improvements
· Participate in special HR projects as assigned
Payroll Administration (ADP)
· Process payroll accurately and timely using ADP, including entering new hires, status changes, compensation updates, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, commissions, and terminations.
· Review and verify employee wage calculations, paid time off balances, and payroll changes prior to processing.
· Coordinate with managers and employees to resolve payroll discrepancies.
· Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
· Administer payroll-related reporting, including deductions, tax updates, direct deposit changes, and year-end processing support.
· Serve as internal liaison with ADP for payroll, tax, system, and employee data issues.
· Support the administration of leave tracking, paid time off, sick time, and other earnings/deduction codes in ADP.
· Assist with W-2, benefits deduction reconciliation, and payroll audits as needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
· 2–3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or a related HR generalist/representative role
· Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
· Experience handling employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
· HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred
Experience in a regulated or multi-employee environment
