Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Safely load and unload vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage or accidents.
- Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs when necessary to facilitate vehicle recovery or transport.
- Use automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to assess vehicle conditions during towing or roadside assistance calls.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining services, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle mechanics, cargo securement, and safe driving practices for commercial truck driving.
- Assist with vehicle recovery towing operations, including vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including operating flatbed tow trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols, safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks, and vehicle recovery towing techniques.
- Previous work involving car towing, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, or roadside assistance is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial truck driving certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience with manual transmissions and operating equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
- Excellent conflict management skills combined with a customer-focused attitude to handle challenging situations professionally.
