Job Overview
The Overnight Pool Custodian plays a critical role in ensuring the Bozeman Hot Springs is clean, safe, and fully operational before opening each day. This is a physically demanding position requiring attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently throughout the night.
Employees should expect to perform strenuous physical labor in a hot, humid environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and pool readiness. Primary Responsibilities
- Clean, scrub, and sanitize all pool decks, tile, and surrounding surfaces.
- Lift, move, clean, and properly reset heavy rubber floor mats throughout the facility.
- Ensure all mats are straight, aligned, and professionally presented.
- Thoroughly sanitize all saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and other aquatic amenities.
- Scrub seasonal algae and other buildup from pool surfaces, walls, and walkways.
- Learn and safely perform pool operational procedures, including opening and closing valves and assisting with basic pool system functions.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and complete all nightly responsibilities on time to support critical pool operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout each shift.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards.
- Operate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely while following all company procedures.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity throughout the shift.
- Take pride in producing a facility that is exceptionally clean and ready for guests each morning.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry heavy rubber mats, cleaning equipment, and other materials.
- Lift more than 50 pounds on occasion and safely move heavier items with assistance when necessary.
- Perform repetitive scrubbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Work for extended periods in a high-heat, high-humidity environment around hot pools, saunas, and steam rooms.
- Stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift.
