Position Summary:

The Director of Sleep and Home Medical Services provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for Sleep Clinic, Sleep Center, Care Boutique, and Home Oxygen/Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services across Bozeman Health. This role is responsible for service line development, operational performance, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, patient experience initiatives, and the standardization of workflows across service areas. The Director collaborates with pulmonology, respiratory therapy, ambulatory services, physicians, and organizational leadership to ensure efficient operations, regulatory readiness, and sustainable program growth. This position oversees staffing models, productivity, budgeting, and operational alignment to support organizational goals and high-quality patient care delivery.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, or related healthcare field.
  • Montana Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Five (5) years’ experience in respiratory care, sleep medicine, durable medical equipment (DME), or related healthcare operations.
  • Three (3) years’ leadership experience with operational, financial, and staff oversight responsibilities.
  • Experience with regulatory, accreditation, and compliance standards related to sleep medicine, home medical equipment, or ambulatory healthcare operations.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related healthcare field.
  • Experience leading multi-department or service line operations within a healthcare organization.
  • Experience with budgeting, productivity management, and strategic planning initiatives.

Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Directs operational oversight for Sleep Clinic, Sleep Center, Care Boutique, and Home Oxygen/Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services to ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-centered operations.
  • Develops and implements strategic initiatives, operational goals, and service line growth plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Oversees departmental financial performance, including budgeting, productivity monitoring, resource allocation, expense management, and operational forecasting.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, payer, accreditation, and organizational regulatory requirements related to sleep medicine, respiratory care, and home medical equipment services.
  • Leads quality improvement, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives to support clinical excellence and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with pulmonology, respiratory therapy, ambulatory services, physicians, and organizational leaders to improve care coordination and operational integration across service areas.
  • Develops, implements, and standardizes workflows, operational procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Oversees staffing models, workforce planning, scheduling strategies, and productivity initiatives to support operational and patient care needs.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and professional development to departmental leaders and staff to promote engagement, accountability, and organizational alignment.
  • Analyzes operational, financial, quality, and productivity metrics to identify trends, improve performance, and support informed decision-making.
  • Maintains effective communication and collaborative relationships with physicians, vendors, third-party service providers, and organizational leadership.
  • Participates in organizational planning, leadership initiatives, and operational committees to support system-wide priorities and strategic objectives.

Schedule Requirements

  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
