A full-time position is available, working 35-40 hours a week onsite. Days TBD. The wage range is $25-$30 DOE. Purpose: The Design Specialist helps bring the Co-ops brand to life through high-quality visuals across print, digital, and in-store channels. This role creates engaging designs that inform and inspire our member-owners, shoppers, and community, while ensuring consistency with our cooperative values. As a key collaborator across departments, the Design Specialist helps promote initiatives while strengthening the co-op's visual identity.
Specific Responsibilities of Design Specialist
Visual Design & Brand Implementation
- Design all Co-op signage and in-store graphics to enhance the customer experience.
- Create digital graphics for social media, email, website, and digital advertising.
- Ensure all materials (print, web, and in-store) follow brand guidelines and reinforce the Co-op’s voice, values, and mission.
- Monitor and improve in-store visuals to maintain a fresh, engaging shopping experience.
- Participate in creative brief development and brainstorming sessions with various departments.
- Provide design expertise to maintain brand standards in department-generated materials.
- Coordinate with printers and vendors for proofing, print production, and material quality control.
- Provide design input on seasonal campaigns, product line launches, and community events.
Sales Signage & Changeovers
- Lead biweekly sales changeovers, including design, production, and installation of all sales signage (cart signs, posters, digital graphics, sales flyers, coupons, etc.).
- Work scheduled shifts outside of regular store hours to update in-store signage before or after hours.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all sales-related graphics to support promotions and the customer shopping experience.
Digital & Analytics Management
- Manage Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for digital campaigns.
- Provide regular reports for website traffic, digital campaign performance, and customer engagement metrics.
- Make minor updates to website content with focus on brand consistency and usability.
- Apply basic UX principles to digital content (navigation clarity, readability, accessibility, and mobile-first design).
Project & Asset Management
- Track design requests, deadlines, and priorities using project management tools.
- Maintain organized design files, templates, and archives to streamline production.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a computerized office environment that demonstrates the ability or aptitude to successfully meet all expectations listed above successfully.
- Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or a similar tool.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates a thorough understanding of typography, layout, and branding.
- Experience managing or applying brand standards across multiple channels.
- Proven ability to manage projects through the full design process, from strategy to final assets and production-ready files.
- Familiarity with web software such as Framer, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; early mornings, daytime, evening, holidays, and weekend shifts may be required.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. throughout shift, and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
