Responsible for all repairs, upkeep and regular maintenance of Boysville’s facility including cottages, buildings, and grounds. Work schedule will reflect meeting the requirements under the essential job functions and will be overseen by the Director of Facilities Management. All employees of Boysville, Inc. receive training in the Quality Improvement (QI) activities of the company and are required to actively participate in QI meetings, tasks, projects and/or committees, as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform all necessary repairs, including acquiring replacement parts.
- Replace any items which are not deemed repairable.
- Respond to Maintenance Request Forms completed by staff in a timely manner.
- Maintain all campus buildings and equipment.
- Maintain lawn not assigned to cottages or other staff.
- General upkeep of areas not assigned to cottages.
- Assist the Director of Facilities Management in other assignments.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED and 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Must have excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
- Must exhibit behavior that demonstrates cultural diversity and sensitivity (See Corporate Policy #2103).
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Ability to read, write and converse in English.
- Ability to communicate with staff, residents, families, vendors, support agencies and others.
- Ability to handle stress.
- Bending, lifting/pushing/pulling heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, prolonged sitting/standing.
- Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
