What are the responsibilities and job description for the BGCVP: Youth Development Professional position at BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF THE VIRGINIA PENINSULA?
Job Purpose:
- Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a range of programs and day-to-day activities.
- Establish program objectives consistent with organizational goals, standards, and mission.
- Encourage member participation in program activities and offer constructive feedback.
- Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and growth of members.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics
- Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities
Preferred Experience:
- 1 year of experience in childcare
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to oversee a range of programs and day-to-day activities
