About the Role
The Government Grants Administrator will be a key player in ensuring that the resources we receive from federal, state, and local partners are stewarded with excellence, transparency, and purpose. This position will lead the management of our government grants portfolio, supporting every stage of the grant lifecycle, from award through closeout to make sure that funding directly translates into life-changing opportunities for kids.
This is an evolving position with tremendous opportunity to shape how BGCLAH manages government grants and compliance for years to come. You’ll work closely with both the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer to build strong systems, cross-departmental collaboration, and efficient reporting practices that align with our growth and mission.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full lifecycle of grants from award to close-out, including tracking deadlines, compliance requirements, and deliverables
- Review grant agreements, contracts, and amendments; ensure adherence to funder guidelines, OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and audit requirements
- Develop internal control policy and best practices across departments related to government grants
- Lead internal compliance monitoring and train staff on allowable costs, procurement thresholds, timekeeping, and documentation standards
- Coordinate internal and external audit preparation for government-funded programs
- Partner with Finance & Program Operations team to develop org-wide grant expense & personnel allocation strategies
- Prepare and submit timely financial reports, reimbursement invoice packages, and drawdowns for government grants
- Track grant budgets vs actuals to ensure full expensing of all grant awards
- Working closely with finance Lead in preparing government grant projections for annual org-wide fiscal budget
- Coordinate the periodic and close-out programmatic reports for all government grants with various program staff
- Support program evaluation by maintaining accurate grant performance metrics
- Working with program leads to identify program- specific government grant opportunities

- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 years of experience managing government grants, budgets, and compliance
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including cost allocation and expense reconciliation
- Proven ability to manage multiple funders and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel
- Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset
- CPR/First Aid certification (provided upon hire)
- Must complete all pre-employment clearances (see below)

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
