Duties
- Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety at all times
- Implement structured activities that promote childhood development, including arts and crafts, sports coaching, theater, and educational games
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences that support early childhood education principles
- Assist with homework help, tutoring sessions, and skill-building exercises tailored to individual student needs
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols such as first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Foster a welcoming environment rooted in respect, kindness, and Christian counseling values when appropriate
- Collaborate with team members to plan daily schedules that balance structured activities with free play
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly desirable
- Demonstrated classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of childhood development milestones and behavior management techniques
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred but not required; training can be provided upon hire
- Experience working with students who have special needs or require individualized support is a plus
- Background in sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare enhances your ability to engage children creatively
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
