Responsibilities
- Implement engaging afterschool programs that incorporate educational activities, sports coaching, arts, and recreational pursuits aligned with childhood development principles.
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Provide supervision during activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist children with homework, tutoring, and learning exercises to support their academic growth.
- Utilize skills in childcare, early childhood education, and special education to address diverse needs of children and youth.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding progress and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior.
- Support emergency procedures by applying first aid when necessary and adhering to safety guidelines.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or youth in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Knowledge of child development stages and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling is a plus for creating well-rounded programs.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is preferred but not required; training can be provided if necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds, including those with special needs or behavioral challenges.
