Duties

• Supervise children and adolescents in after-school programs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Implement structured activities that promote childhood development, including arts, sports, theater, and educational games
• Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment
• Support students with homework assistance, tutoring, and academic enrichment activities
• Facilitate group activities that foster social skills, teamwork, and leadership among participants
• Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral issues
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community partners to support each child's individual needs
• Incorporate elements of special education strategies when working with children requiring additional support
• Lead recreational activities such as sports coaching or arts projects to encourage physical activity and creativity
• Promote inclusive participation by understanding childhood development principles and adapting activities accordingly
• Maintain detailed records of attendance, incidents, progress reports, and program evaluations

Skills

• Strong classroom management skills to create a structured yet flexible environment conducive to learning and fun
• Experience working with children across various age groups in settings such as daycare, camp, or after-school programs
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively to support positive conduct
• Familiarity with special education needs and accommodations for children requiring additional support
• Proficiency in first aid procedures to ensure safety during all program activities
• Experience in tutoring or teaching that enhances academic achievement for diverse learners
• Skills in childcare or babysitting that demonstrate patience and attentiveness to children's needs
• Background in sports coaching or recreational leadership to promote physical activity and teamwork
• Experience working with students in theater or arts-based programs to foster creativity and self-expression
• Compassionate Christian counseling or mentoring experience is a plus for supporting emotional well-being
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, educators, and community partners
