Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role located in Washington, NC for a Tutor Monday through Thursday. The hours will be 2.5-4 hours per day and specifically set once the interview is completed and position offered to a wualified candidate. The Tutor will be responsible for providing academic support, mentoring, and guidance to club members. Day-to-day tasks include working collaboratively with the Education Director, other Tutors, and staff to design lesson plans, assist with homework, develop individual learning plans, provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions, and track student progress. The Tutor will collaborate with other club staff to ensure the overall development and success of club members.
Qualifications
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring students
- Strong organizational and lesson planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of young people
- Experience working with non-profit organizations is a plus
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for education and youth development
