Role Description
The Director of Nutrition provides organizational-wide leadership overseeing all aspects of food service operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, cost-effective and compliant preparation and delivery of meals to multiple club locations. This role manages kitchen operations, menu development, inventory, compliance with CACFP and SFSP regulations and supervises staff. The Director of Nutrition functions as the general manager of the kitchen, balancing administrative, operational, budgetary and culinary responsibilities. In addition, the Director serves as the official program contact for CACFP and SFSP, ensuring all compliance, reporting, and training requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of successful experience managing food service operations, preferably in institutional, nonprofit, restaurant or catering settings
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently
- An unquestionable work ethic and the ability to accomplish established goals
- Food safety certification (e.g. ServSafe) required or willingness to obtain
- The ability to manage and motivate a team of food service workers
- A valid driver's license
- Physical ability to lift at least 30 pounds
- Experience and knowledge of CACFP and SFSP grant and program requirements is a plus
