Brief Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Program Manager assist the Club Director with overseeing the daily operations of the designated Clubhouse. The Program Manager will assist the Club Director with the implementation of quality programming, supervision and training of staff, creating lesson plans derived from the list of BGCAA’s curriculum, set up materials, ensure facilitates are clean and safe, and evaluating programming activities for youth to ensure enrichment programming is successful. The Program Manager will assist with ensuring a safe environment for club members and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
School time: Part time hours (approx 29 hours a week) during the school year: 1:00pm to 7:00pm; Mon-Fri.
Out of school time (i.e. summer, winter, and/or spring break) may vary, but will remain a part-time position. Out of school time hours may range from 7:00am – 7:00pm.
Occasional nights or weekends may be required for training, field trips, or other Club-related activities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Creates lesson plans derived from the list of BGCAA’s curriculum and prepares materials for programming
- Leads activities designed to foster students’ mental, physical, and social development
- Works with youth individually or in groups to facilitate programming
- Provides feedback to Club youth using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
- Assist the Club Director with maintaining staff by recruiting and training employees
- Assist the Club Director with communicating the following to staff: job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
- Collaborates with Club staff and members to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instruction
- Assist the Club Director with developing and maintaining a positive and professional contact with external community groups, school administration, members’ parents and others
- Assist with ensuring that BGCAA rules and policies are implemented
- Maintains a safe, legal, and clean work environment
- Provides guidance and role modeling to staff and club members
- Checks in and/or out youth attending Club adhering to procedures
- Takes daily class attendance and maintain accurate records
- Enters member data and participation into database
- Supervises youth in various settings including classrooms, cafeteria, playground, multipurpose rooms, and field trips
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Club area
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions as prescribed
- May be required to drive a shuttle bus or Club transportation
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Maintain close daily contact with Club staff and Club members to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instruction
- Maintain contact with external community groups, school administration, members’ parents and others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must pass background check, reference check, and drug test
- Must be able to work and interact professionally
- Proficient with computer equipment
- Ability to have adequate vision and hearing to ensure the safety of Club youth; and complete data entry requirement
- Associate degree in education or related field preferred
- At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting
- 21 years, hold a valid Texas Driver’s License, personal insurance, and insurable through our organizational driver policy (may be required for some Club assignments)
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
- Demonstrates dependability, accountability, and cooperation
- Preferred ability to stand for long periods of time
- Preferred ability to work in various weather conditions—hot, cold, rainy, etc
- Preferred ability to meet physical demands of working with youth
- Preferred ability to move equipment up to 25 pounds
- Preferred ability to endure periodically noisy environments (in the context of working with youth)
