PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Transportation Driver is responsible for providing safe and prompt transportation of children ages 6-18 years old from school to Boys & Girls Clubs and field trips as needed.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Must be able to interact appropriately & positively with children ages 6-18 years old.
- Responsible for ensuring all passengers follow rules regarding safety in vehicles and enforcement of rules
- Responsible for maintaining required licenses and certifications to transport passengers.
- Responsible for safety and supervision of children while in Club vehicle, in transit and exiting Club vehicle.
- Responsible for knowing assigned routes, schedules and passenger for each day.
- Safe operation of vehicle as per Boy & Girls Club, State and Federal transportation policies.
- Ensure vehicles are safe, well-ventilated and equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Responsible for daily maintenance of vehicles, including interior cleanliness, fluid and fuel levels, documented pre-trip operation, and vehicle inspections
- Support Club administration in local drop off/delivery of donations and supplies as needed.
- Report accidents immediately.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Listen and communicate alerts about inclement weather.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
- May have to work occasional weekends.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Maintains daily contact and work jointly with Club professional staff and Club members.
- External: Contact with designated school officials and community.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Valid State Drivers License.
- Have 2 years driving experience (Personal or Professional).
- Must have DMV Driver record printout dated within the past 30 days of application.
- Submit to a fingerprint/background check.
- Experience with working with youth in some capacity.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications. (acquire within 3 months of employment).
- Must be able to lift items as heavy as 25 pounds.
