Your Role:
Under the direction of our Sports & Fitness Coordinators, volunteer coaches help support Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale's sports program by showing our members the importance of staying active and healthy!
- Provide instruction and practice sports with our Club members (the kids and teens in our program)
- Provide great experiences to Club members.
- Provide all youth with basic instructions of the sport.
- Provide practice in a way that all youth are able to participate.
- Support our staffs' efforts to create fun and safe experiences for kids.
- Work as part of a great volunteer team.
- Possess the ability to interact and work well with others.
- Seek out the help of the staff if there are any issues or concerns.
Total Time Commitment:
- Hours: Monday - Friday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons
- Length of assignment: 2 Days per week, for 8 weeks (varies by sports season)
Practices are 1 hour Monday - Thursday, depending on the Branch.
Games are 1 hour either on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings/afternoons.
Qualifications:- A passion for the Boys & Girls Clubs vision and mission.
- A passion for creating safe and fun experiences for kids.
- Must engage in mandatory volunteer trainings and acknowledge our policies.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and reference check process.
- Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Must be able to remain alert and energetic for long periods of time.
- May be asked to serve as a chaperone for field trips.
