What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor- Camp Lovejoy position at Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady?
Camp Lovejoy, which is a Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady summer day camp program, is looking for Counselors who assist in the overseeing, supervision, participation, and safety of a designated group of campers; have experience with a camp, youth, outdoors and/or recreation programs; have the ability to relate well with children and peers; and are willing to learn and take directions.
Camp Lovejoy is located in the beautiful Helderberg Mountains of Altamont.
The camp season runs from ASAP till Aug 14, 2026. Weekly Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
There will be a mandatory paid training prior to camp that all personnel must attend.
Daily tasks include:
Providing campers feedback and guidance regarding performance.
Supervision of campers.
Participating and engaging in camp activities/specialty's.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to be physically active during portions of the camp day.
Someone who loves nature and the outdoors.
Experience working with youth is preferred.
Have the ability to communicate positively with diverse age groups.
