What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Program Support Staff position at Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady?
Position Overview: As After-School Program Support Staff, you facilitate & participate in activities, track attendance, and ensure the safety of all youth. Together with your team, you focus on offering elementary, middle/high school students mentorship and engaging activities, supporting them in achieving academic success, improving attendance, and building positive behaviors and social-emotional skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Health and Safety of Members: You will be responsible for supervising program youth and ensuring the health and safety of staff, youth, parents, and visitors by following safety policies and procedures compliant with BGCS and SCSD.
- Program Success: You will develop and maintain a positive culture by participating in and supporting all activities in addition to maintaining facilities and equipment.
- Relationships: You will play a role in fostering positive relationships with students/families, staff, and all community partners.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- The capacity to effectively manage challenging behaviors, cultivate the potential of young individuals, and maintain exemplary standards.
- Communication and Relationship Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 18.0 per week
