The Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester is seeking a seasoned fundraiser with the ability to develop resources to support the organization’s programs, projects, and initiatives. This position is relatively new to the organization, presenting a unique opportunity to create and implement a comprehensive development plan.
The successful candidate will utilize expert communications skills to identify and cultivate fundraising opportunities, particularly with individual donors, while building relationships and managing effective fundraising campaigns. This position is responsible for the success of special fundraising events and for recruiting and leading essential volunteers. Strong speaking and writing abilities are required to effectively advance the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester toward its financial goals.
Objectives of Role
· To promote awareness of the organization’s work, mission and its goals
· To cultivate a network of dedicated donors
· To uncover new fundraising opportunities
· To work with the Executive Director to establish an annual goal
· To develop strong relationships with stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and manage a portfolio of donors, with a focus on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
· Coordinate and execute all major fundraising and cultivation events, ensuring revenue goals are met or exceeded
· Oversee the Planned Giving Program including outreach, marketing, and donor stewardship to build a pipeline to legacy gifts
· Work collaboratively with the executive director, board of directors, development committee, to identify, engage, and solicit perspective donors
· Develop sponsorship opportunities and partnerships to support fundraising events
· Track and analyze fundraising performance, donor engagement, and event outcomes to ensure continuous growth
· Prepare and deliver regular reports on individual giving, special events and planned giving activities.
· Maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring meaningful recognition and long-term engagement
· Create a compelling fundraising message that appeals to potential donors
· Manage online donations in Donor Perfect with staff support
· Lead the design, creation and production of promotional materials related to fundraising purposes
· Establish and implement a comprehensive development plan, achieving or exceeding the organization’s financial objectives
· Assist with other aspects of fundraising where needed
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Communications, Fundraising, or related field
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven record of success in individual giving, special events, and/or planned giving
· Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
· Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team
· Knowledge of fundraising software
