TITLE:Teen Director
LOCATION(S): Frank J. Williams Club

DEPARTMENT: Programs
REPORTS TO: Club Director
Part time position 20-25 hours a week with availability 2:30 pm-7:00 pm Monday through Friday
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. Build relationships, act as mentors, and model good decision making and social skills. Ensure inclusion and safety for all members.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
- Promote and stimulate program participation.
- Participate in new member club orientation process.
- Participate as an active positive team member with supervisor, staff, volunteers, and members.
- Actively engaged with students in core area programs.
Program Development and Implementation
- Effectively plan and implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
- Prevention – Smart Moves, Passport to Manhood, and Smart Girls.
- Physical Education – Triple Play, Healthy Habits, and two health classes per week.
- Arts – drama, music, and fine arts.
- Education – STRIDE, STEM, Intervention, and Career Development.
- Social Rec. – Character Education & Development, Games, Sportsmanship, Fair Play, Honesty.
- Write/ Implement weekly lesson plans.
Supervision
- Participates in unit staff meetings. Communicates effectively, maintain a safe environment for members both physically and emotionally.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May participate in special programs and/or events.
- May be required to drive Club van.
- Participates in continuing education. (Webinars, Workshops, Conferences)
- Assume other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External:Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
