TITLE: Program Director
REPORTS TO: Club Director
SCHEDULE: Full Time: 40 hours per week (Typically Monday through Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm)
SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $60,000

The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest provides social, educational, physical, and cultural programming to enhance the development of youth and prepare young adults to be responsible and productive members of the community. As a Program Director, you ensure that our programs are delivered effectively, directly impacting the lives of our members every day.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Director is responsible for the core planning, scheduling, monitoring, and evaluation of all Clubhouse programs across key focus areas. This role focuses heavily on curriculum development, lesson planning, program quality, outcome tracking, and strategic implementation. The Program Director leads the structural design of club activities, provides clear direction to coordinators, and serves as the primary Manager on Duty in the absence of the Club Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
1. Program Management and Compliance
· Plan and schedule a diverse daily program routine encompassing Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Character & Leadership, and Workforce & Life Readiness.
· Track and evaluate program participation, attendance, and impact data, ensuring all metrics are accurately entered into the database for grant reporting.
· Review program areas regularly to ensure program quality, child safety, cleanliness, and compliance with organizational regulations.
· Build, adapt, and organize curriculum plans and material resources for staff to follow during daily lesson planning and Boys & Girls Clubs of America programming.
· Help the Club Director track budgets, purchase program supplies, and organize logistics for large-scale club events.
2. Site Leadership and Safety
· Serve as the primary Manager on Duty in the absence of the Club Director, handling overall site safety, operational decisions, and emergency protocols.
· Assist the Club Director with behavioral issues, communicating directly with parents, guardians, or school administrators to resolve problems.
· Maintain relationships with local schools, community organizations, and vendors to support and expand club activities.
· Drive the Club van for member transportation or field trips when needed.
3. Coordination and Support
· Assist the Club Director during the onboarding of new coordinators by introducing them to program standards and requirements.
· Lead the program review portion of staff meetings to coordinate schedules, shared facility spaces, and field trip details.
Relationships
· Internal: Maintains regular contact with Club professional staff, specifically department Coordinators, to provide program guidance, ensure quality standards, and coordinate schedules. Discusses ongoing program needs, metrics, and facility usage. Interacts with members to handle behavior escalations, provide positive guidance, and ensure safety.
· External: Maintains active contact with members' parents or guardians regarding behavioral issues or program participation. Connects with local schools, community organizations, and program vendors to support activities, resolve logistical problems, and promote Club initiatives.
Skills and Knowledge Required
· Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience planning and implementing youth development programs within a Boys & Girls Club or similar after-school setting.
· Clear understanding of Positive Youth Development principles and activity planning.
· Strong organizational, time-management, and administrative skills to handle multiple program tracks.
· Solid written and verbal communication skills for tracking metrics, writing reports, and speaking with parents.
· Ability to make sound decisions independently when serving as the primary lead on-site.
· Valid state driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements for operating Club vehicles
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Youth Development, or a related field.
- Active CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Bilingual in Portuguese or Spanish.
