Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing financial accounting activities of the organization, including the processing of accounts payable, grant reimbursement preparation, and other expenditures.
- Routine accounting: process payroll, process accounts payable, prepare billings, record billings, and enter cash receipts, reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and prepare journal entries.
- Record and reconcile transactions and journal entries within accounting platforms, BILL and QuickBooks.
- Assist external auditors in preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary information for the annual report.
- Monitor expenditures against budget, with particular attention to grant-funded projects.
- Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices (GAAP), processes and procedures of nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks platform.
- Previous experience supporting and monitoring grant-funded projects, preferably in the youth development space.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organization and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
